How to install the Motorola Symbol scanner for use with the program

Ensure the scanner is a supported scanner. The program requires the DS6707-DC (there will be some additional numbers and letters after the DC.
You can find the model number on a sticker next to the trigger.
To install the document scanner, follow these steps:
- Open an internet browser and navigate to http://www.CrossLinkTax.com.
- Click Customer Login.
- Complete the login information box and then click Login.
- Point the mouse at Downloads and then click Other Downloads.
- Download and install the appropriate driver for your operating system.
- For 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows, click Snapi 64 bit Driver and save the file.
- For 32-bit versions of Microsoft Windows, click Snapi Driver w/installer and save the file.
- Run the downloaded file and complete the Motorola Installation Wizard.
- Open the downloaded file and run the Symbol SNAPI USB Imaging Driver application file. If prompted to extract all files, simply click Run. If a Security Warning appears, click Run once more.
- Complete the Symbol SNAPI USB Imaging Driver Setup Wizard.
- Plug the scanner into a USB port on your computer.
- Scan the Set Defaults bar code. Wait for two separate sequences of beeps from the scanner. The second set of beeps should be low/medium/high beeps. Four long low beeps indicate an error.
- Scan the Snapi with imaging bar code. Wait for two separate sequences of beeps from the scanner. The second set of beeps should be low/medium/high beeps. Four long low beeps indicate an error.
To verify the document scanner is working properly, follow these steps to scan a document:
- Open the program. The document scanner is only compatible with the program 2012.31 or the program 2013.10 and above.
- Start a new tax return, or open a test return. Do not use a real return, as the scanned document cannot easily be deleted!
- On the Attached Forms pane, click Document Archive.
- In the Archived Documents listing, click Scan Document.
- Click Snap.
- If you want to save the file, click Save.
