Adding part year resident, or non-resident, state tax forms to a return

Adding part year resident, or non-resident, state tax forms to a return

Sometimes a state will use the same form for resident, partial resident, and non-resident taxpayers. Sometimes a state will ADD a form for partial resident or non-resident taxpayers.

However, in many cases, a state will use a completely different form for these different cases. These forms are mutually exclusive with the full time resident form, and therefore will not be listed to be added. To add the correct form, the full time resident form must be removed first.
