How to transmit with the program if you do not have an Internet connection

To transmit to the Central Site without an Internet connection, you must have the following:

  • A PCI modem
  • A phone line connected to the modem
  • Long distance phone service

To configure the program to transmit over your modem without an Internet connection, follow these steps:

  1. On the toolbar, click Transmit.
  2. Click Setup.
  3. Under Transmit Method, click Traditional Dialup.
  4. In the Prefix list, choose the applicable prefix:
    • *70: Disables call waiting
    • 1: Select this option if you must press 1 to dial a long distance phone number
    • 9: Select this option if you must press 9 to dial a phone number
  5. Click Detect. If your modem is detected, it will appear next to the appropriate COM port.
  6. In the COM Port list, choose the COM port where the modem is installed.
  7. In the Baud list, choose your modem speed. Most users will select 57.6.
  8. Click OK.
The program will now transmit to the Central Site over your phone line.
