How do I setup TextLink to Email returns?

Part 1

To turn on 2-Step Verification (Required), follow these steps:

  1. Login to your Google or Gmail account
  2. Click on the initials or profile picture in the upper right corner.
  3. Click Manage your Google Account
  4. Go to the Security tab on the left in the tree
  5. Scroll down to Signing in to Google
  6. Click 2-Step Verification then Get Started
  7. Enter your Google password and click Next
  8. Ensure your device shows on the list, then click Continue and verify that Google has the correct phone number for you as a backup.
  9. Hit Send to send a code to your device. Once you receive the code, enter it and click Next
  10. Confirm that the information is correct and click Turn On
Part 2
Now that 2-Step Verification is on we need to create an App Password

To create an App Password, follow these steps:
  1. Under the Signing in to Google box, click App Passwords 
  2. Re-enter your Google account password and click Next
  3. On the Select app dropdown, choose Other (Custom name) and enter TextLink
  4. Next, click Generate
  5. This is the password you will use with your Gmail username in the TextMsg/Email tab of the tax software
NOTE: Once the window shows your Generated app password please be sure to PRINT this page or make a note of this password as it will not be accessible again.

Part 3

To setup the e-mail option in the software, follow these steps:
  1. Open the tax software
  2. Go to Setup then Office Setup menu, click TextMsg/Email tab
  3. Enter the Gmail address in Email and the App Password the was generated by Google in Password. (See Part 1 and 2 above)
  4. Click OK.
