Error Message: “Prerequisite: Update file missing…” when updating the program

SYMPTOMS

When updating the program, an error message appears:



CAUSE

This error will occur when trying to apply an update to the program without applying the previous updates. This can happen when the program has been reinstalled and receives a new update without applying previous updates.

RESOLUTIONS STEPS

Rehang the prior service releases for the client:

  1. Login to CSR.
  2. Click the Misc tab
  3. Click Latest Filename to sort by the latest filename.
  4. Locate the package for the missing file.
    1. Filenames are formatted 7 characters long, the first 5 characters will be the same for all versions of that particular package. For example, if the missing file is f981102 the Latest Filename may be f981103 or f981110.

  5. Select the check box for the package missing an update and then click Send Checked.
  6. Type the customer’s User ID in the UserID box and click Validate.
  7. Click Send to queue the software packages for pick up from the customer.
  8. Have the customer transmit to central site and then apply updates.
